About the client

In 2023, we were entrusted with evaluating candidates for board member positions at VAS “Latvijas Loto”. The company has a turnover of EUR 100.30 million and employs 151 people.
Goal and recruitment process
In addition to the usual methods, namely competency interviews, reference checks, and reputation
assessments, we also used the Unlock Personality test and the Unlock Leadership test in this project. The personality test allowed us not only to determine the personality traits of each candidate, but also to understand their most prominent roles in the team. Since we had to select three board members, we were able to analyse how well their team roles complemented each other and how successfully they would work together.
With the help of a leadership test, we determined the management style characteristic of each candidate, namely whether it was supportive, coaching, delegating, or directive, and we also determined the management adaptability index, management effectiveness index, and basic management knowledge level. As a result of the assessment, three board members were selected who successfully perform their duties in the company.
Feedback from VAS “Latvijas Loto”:
“We have reviewed the Deed of Acceptance-Transfer No 11092023 submitted by the personnel recruitment company SIA “Human Source” (hereinafter referred to as the Company) for personnel recruitment consultant services in the nomination process for members of the board of VAS “Latvijas Loto”. We hereby confirm that the Company has performed the work assignment in a high-quality manner, within the specified deadlines and in full, in accordance with Agreement No 193/23S (Company Agreement No 22-06/2023) of 28June 2023, concluded between VAS “Latvijas Loto” and the Company.
On behalf of the Nomination Committee for the selection of candidates for the Board of VAS “Latvijas Loto” (hereinafter – Latvijas Loto), we confirm that the Company has conducted an initial evaluation of all submitted candidate applications (a total of 34 candidates submitted 46 applications). In accordance with the candidate evaluation criteria, the Company conducted an in-depth reputation check and English language proficiency test (via telephone interview) for those applicants who met the mandatory minimum requirements. At its meetings on 26 July and 16 August this year, the Company presented the results to the Nomination Committee, including a proposal to advance the candidates to the second round of the competition.
The Company participated as an observer in the second round of the selection process for the Council of Latvijas Loto – semi-structured interviews with candidates (12 interviews in total).
The company has submitted to the Nomination Committee a written summary of the results of an in-depth assessment of management competencies (competency or in-depth behavioural interviews) for each final candidate for the position of Council member of Latvijas Loto (six in total) (5 (five) management competencies were assessed), including information on the results of the candidate’s personality assessment test. The company presented the results to the Nomination Committee at its meeting on September 11 this year, also providing information on the summary of the results of the references obtained for each candidate for the position of Council member and the assessment of the candidates’ compatibility models. Information on the results of the references and the assessment of the candidates’ compatibility models has been submitted to the shareholder of VAS “Latvijas Loto” by decision of the Nomination Committee.”
