Our client, a Latvia based company specializing in the processing and trade of animal by-products, is looking to expand their team with a Regional chief accountant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • supervision and control of the full-cycle accounting process;
  • coordination of the preparation of the annual report and responsibility for the financial audit process;
  • execution of monthly and annual closing and consolidation procedures;
  • regular verification of accounting data and preparation of financial information for the Group Finance Department;
  • execution of intercompany reconciliation procedures and monitoring of balance sheet accounts;
  • supervision of payroll calculations, ensuring compliance with local regulations;
  • tax accounting and optimization – oversight of declarations, cooperation with the State Revenue Service and auditors, recovery of overpayments, and VAT consulting for international transactions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • higher education in finance, accounting or economics;
  • at least 4–5 years of experience in a senior accountant position;
  • excellent MS Excel skills and experience with accounting systems;
  • very good command of Latvian and English;
  • experience in manufacturing or export industries will be considered as advantage;
  • willingness to take initiative and improve accounting processes;
  • accuracy, honesty, and a strong sense of responsibility;
  • good communication and organizational skills, flexibility.
